Advanced TrimWright Launches PVC Recycling Program
Advanced TrimWright Launches PVC Recycling Program

EAST TAUNTON, Mass., Dec. 22, 2011 – Advanced TrimWright (ATW), a manufacturer of PVC exterior trim products for residential and commercial construction use, has announced the launch of a new, comprehensive PVC recycling program.

Dan Andrade, founder and CEO of Advanced TrimWright, created the program.  He
noted that they have recycled PVC products at their facility for some time, and the new program was a way to expand the effort.

ATW has created a signature recycling box, measuring 44-inches wide by 44-inches deep. The company will provide these recycling boxes to each of their lumber yard distributors who are part of this program. In all, ATW distributes its PVC products to approximately 250 lumber yards throughout New England and the Northeast.  ATW will drop off the containers, add the lumber yard’s logo to the box, return to pick up the containers when they are full, and swap them out for new containers.

“In essence, this is pickup and delivery for contractors and lumber yards,” said Andrade, who anticipates that more than 100 containers will be put into service by the end of 2012 and conceivably four or five times that many over the next few years.

All recycled PVC material will be picked up by ATW and transported to its East Taunton, Mass., facility, where Andrade has contracted with a company to recycle it.

The material offers significant advantages over traditional wood trim.  While aesthetically pleasing as wood, it does not carry the disadvantages associated with traditional lumber.  PVC material does not rot, corrode, delaminate or swell excessively from moisture, and it is impervious to damage from insects. Applications include homes, commercial structures, historic buildings, churches and other dwellings.

Andrade sees great opportunities for his lumber yard distributors. “For lumber yards who serve as distributors for our PVC products, as well as contractors who work on the projects, this is a great way to show their commitment to recycling. When a recycling box is at a job site for several months or a lumber yard, it’s great exposure for the company’s name to be seen there day after day.”

The first ATW recycling boxes are in place at Specialty Builders’ Supply in Brewster, Mass.   ATW anticipates the boxes will be in additional outlets shortly.
